Lord Jesus,
As we enter this Sacred Season of Lent I humbly offer you my desire to grow closer to you through fasting, abstinence, almsgiving, but especially my efforts to build a life of prayer.

Please accept this effort on my part and join me to all my brothers and sisters who also will be striving to turn to you and away from sin.  I offer my prayers for the salvation of my soul, for the good of my family and friends, for those in most need and for the good fo Holy Mother Church.   Please hear my supplications and prayers and receive them into your Most Sacred Heart from which all life flows to us.

If my spirit grows weak or lazy, arouse in me a spirit of piety to return to my Lenten plan.   If my life becomes hectic and filled with many responsibilities, teach me to put you first above all.   If my charity is lost towards others or my patience is tested, move my heart to love as you love and in my time of prayer, shower me with your grace.

All this I ask in you Most Holy Name.  Amen.
