Day 1 - Corpus Christi to Frankfurt
Board your bus from Corpus Christi to Houston. Depart on Lufthansa
German Airlines to Frankfurt.
Day 2 - Frankfurt to Lisbon to Fatima
Arrive in Frankfurt and change planes to Lisbon. Upon arrival into Lisbon
you will be met and transferred to Fatima. En route we will stop at
Santarem to see the Church of St. Stephen, site of the 13th century
Eucharistic Miracle. On to Fatima for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Fatima
This morning attend two important shirne ceremonies and visit the
Aljustrel children's houses, the Batalha with its Santa Maria de Vitoria,
Nazarre and Alcabaca. In the evening join in the Candlelight Procession.
Overnight in Fatima for dinner.
Day 4 - Fatima to Porto to Guadalupe
Depart Fatima to Porto to see the wine factory and enjoy taste sampling
of the best wine, and see the church of St. Francis before continuing to
Guadalupe for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 - Guadalupe/Avila
This morning you will have a tour of Guadalupe to include the Royal
Monastery of Santa Maria de Guadalupe, the Plaza Santa Maria, Belen
Artesenal De Nortberto, and if time permits see the Museum Del Real
Monasterio De Guadalupe. Continue to Avila for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 - Avila to Zaragoza
Avila is known as the city of Kings and of Saints, which is completely
encircled by 11th century walls. This is the birthplace of St. Theresa, view
the perserved body of St. Theresa of Avila in the Carmelite Convent and
celebrate Mass at the Cathedral. Tour the city and then continue to
Zaragoza for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 - Zaragoza to Lourdes
Zaragoza is a city imbued with a profound devotional feeling, the symbol
of which is the basilica Shrine of Nuestra Senora del Pilar, the oldest
church consecrated to the Virgin in Christendom. The Basilica is one of
the most celebrated sanctuaries in the world and has been a pilgrimage
center for centuries. The city tour this morning will also include a visit to
the Cathedral called The Seo, built between 1119-1550 in the place of a
mosque which had displaced an old church. Depart Zaragoza and travel
through the Spanish countryside and pastures. Cross into picturesque
and spectacular Pyrenees Mountains to Lourdes, nestled in the mountain,
birth place of St. Bernadette, to who Our Lady appeared in 1858. Dinner
and overnight.
Day 8 - Lourdes
This morning youwill have a walking tour of Lourdes, which will include a
visit to Bernadette's house, Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the
Miraculous Spring, the Shrine of Bernadetter and the XII century Castle.
This afternoon do the Stations of the Cross. Rest of the day at leisure to
participate in the different ceremonies or private devotion. After dinner
attend the Candle Light Procession.
Day 9 - Lourdes
Free day in Lourdes. This evening, attend the Candle Light Procession.
Day 10 - Lourdes to Montserrat to Barcelona
Leave Lourdes and depart to Montserrat, Spain's most sacred mountain.
Visit the Romanesque Monastery and the Shrine of the Virgin of
Montserrat, known as "LaMoreneta" or "Black Madonna." Continue to your
hotel in Barcelona for dinner and overnight.
Day 11 - Barcelona
Barcelona's narrow streets lead from the square and wind through the
Gothic Quarter, a historical potpourri of remains of Roman occupation,
delicate Arab arches and Romanesque colonnades. Above the arches
and colonnades towers the 14th century Cathedral of St. Eulalia. Its
cloisters house a museum of sculptures, paintings, and tapestries. From
Plaza de Catalina to the port stretches Las Ramblas, the city's favorite
promenade. It is alive with booksellers, artists, cafes and more. The we
will visit the La Sagrada Familia with its magnificent architecture and its
combination of Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms. Return to your
hotel in Barcelona for dinner and overnight.
Day 12 - Barcelona to Frankfort to Corpus Christi
Transfer to the airport for flight to Frankfort, with connecting service to
Houston.
